The Planning Commission and City staff have been collaborating with Volkert, Inc. to update the City's Comprehensive Plan, originally adopted in 2013. This long-range document will serve as a strategic roadmap for the community’s growth and development over the next five to ten years, ensuring that new projects align with the City's vision, infrastructure capacity, and quality-of-life goals.
Following extensive data collection public input and analysis, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on October 9, 2025, and adopted the Great Place, Greater Future Comprehensive Plan. The adopted plan updates and supersedes the previously adopted 2013 plan. The Great Place, Greater Future Comprehensive Plan provides a framework to guide land use decisions, public investments and community initiatives other the next ten years and beyond. The plan will now be presented to the City Council for ratification at the October 20, 2025, regular meeting at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. Residents can view the plan below and provide comments via email to COBM_Planning@cityofbayminetteal.gov. Residents are also welcome to attend the City Council meeting to provide input.
